What Signmasters Do:

One of the most important task that our Signmasters do is to go out quarterly to make a visual inspection of the 353 brown signs that mark where local trails crossed section lines thoughout the Johnson and Wyandot County area.  They note the condition of the signs – if damaged, faded, or missing, which requires their replacement. If replacement is required this information is then passed on to the local municipalities for their street crews to go out and make that replacement. KCAHTA keeps an adequate supply of all signs on hand for this purpose. With the historical importance of where these signs are located, the cities and counties work diligently with us to keep them in place.   
Without the continued support of our Signmasters to quarterly go out and physically examine our signs and placements of those we would not be able to keep up with what might be happening in those communities.  So THANK YOU to all who do this stupendous job and volunteer your time to do so!
